ANZAC Day 2017

Wow was it wet! The band formed up at Dean St under heavy skies and falling rain. Potentially not the best day to debut our new uniform – we were covered in the band rain capes from shoulders to knees. The street march was wet, but not overly so and the march down Albury’s main st was very well attended.

The Wodonga Street march was muich wetter. Here is Drum Major Barry Prater – look at that happy face:

Here are some snaps from on the march – the water was streaming off the drums, and causing many drones to flood and stop working:

Our next stop was the SS&A Club Albury – attempts to dry off were largely failures, but eventually we got most of the pipes going again!

After a welcome beer at the club and a tune or two we were off to the next venue – the Commercial Club. Both clubs have been great sponsors of the band over the years and we really appreciate it.

Thank you to everyone who supported the band on the day. It was wet and it was rough, but we got through it. Well done to band members on their resilience and professionalism under trying circumstances.
