2023 marked 100 years of piping and drumming in our region!

In February 1923 it was brought forth that Albury should form a Pipe Band. It was decided that the band be called the “Albury and District Pipe Band”, thus beginning a rich history of piping and drumming in the region.

Our band roots come from the “Lavington Sport Club Pipe Band”, which was formed 50 years ago in 1972/73. Prior to that, the regions band was the “Albury and District Caledonian Pipe Band”.

In the 1980s we became known as the “Albury Wodonga Pipes & Drums” and our first public appearance was at the Albury International Fair in 1985. We were officially incorporated 34 years ago in 1989.

It is great to be part of the long history of piping and drumming in the area.
